Location: Birmingham, AL
Glenwood is a growing 37-year old nonprofit located in Birmingham, Alabama serving more than 2,000 individuals with autism or mental health disorders each year. The role of the Vice President of Development and Communications is to provide strategic direction, vision, and results for its Development program to allow it to realize an identified potential for growth and leadership in the field. The Vice President of Development and Communications will serve as a member of Glenwood’s senior leadership team and report directly to the President & CEO. The individual will join a dedicated staff of 320 of this nationally accredited organization
The successful candidate will have a Bachelor’s degree (advanced degree a plus), seven to ten years experience in fundraising, three to five years management experience, an understanding of fundraising metrics, strong organizational and supervisory skills, effective time management skills, strong verbal/written communication skills, and a demonstrated ability to work effectively with the community, board, and staff. Glenwood seeks someone who also has a basic understanding of complex gift options and has successfully developed relationship-based gifts. Experience with social service or mental health organizations is preferred.
